ROOF HEALTH ASSESSMENT
ROOF HEALTH ASSESSMENT
A Roof Health Assessment by KZN Builders Association is a comprehensive inspection of your roof structure, waterproofing, tiles, sheeting, timber, underlay, flashings, drainage and overall condition. Your roof is the first line of defence against weather and water damage, yet it is often neglected until leaks, cracks or sagging become severe. This assessment helps homeowners, complexes, estates, offices, factories, churches and schools detect problems early, prevent costly repairs, and ensure safety and compliance.
We inspect for loose or broken tiles, rusting roof sheets, leaks, failed waterproofing, sagging trusses, poor ventilation, damp penetration, blocked gutters, damaged flashing, cracked ridge capping and structural weaknesses. We analyse the roof’s age, material condition and risk areas and provide a detailed report with recommendations, photographs and a prioritised action plan. In coastal areas like Durban and Ballito, roofs deteriorate faster due to humidity, salt corrosion and heavy rain—our assessment ensures your property remains protected all year round.
This service is essential before renovations, insurance claims, roof replacements, solar installation or when buying or selling property. Our trusted contractor network can quote on any required repairs, ensuring you receive quality workmanship and safe, compliant solutions. A healthy roof protects your entire building—assess it before problems cost you more.
WATERPROOFING & DAMP DIAGNOSIS ASSESSMENT
WATERPROOFING & DAMP DIAGNOSIS ASSESSMENT
Our Waterproofing & Damp Diagnosis Assessment is a specialised inspection designed to identify the root cause of damp, mould, leaks, rising moisture, wall bubbling, peeling paint, roof leaks, waterproofing failure and moisture-related structural decay. Damp is one of the most common and destructive issues in KZN due to humidity, coastal weather conditions and aging building materials. If left untreated, damp can cause serious structural weakening, wood rot, steel corrosion, mould growth, health issues and thousands of rands in preventable damage.
During this assessment, we conduct a full moisture reading, visual inspection, roof and exterior assessment, gutter and drainage check, waterproofing membrane evaluation, and internal wall and flooring examination. We determine whether the issue is rising damp, penetrating damp, plumbing leaks, roof failure, ground-water pressure, poor ventilation or failed waterproofing systems. Every cause has a different solution—our role is to identify the exact source so that repairs are done correctly the first time.
You receive a full diagnosis report with photographs, recommended treatments, priority notes, and cost-effective solutions. Whether you live in a home, apartment, complex, estate or manage a commercial property, this assessment prevents incorrect repairs, repeat leaks, unnecessary spending and recurring damage. Our experienced team guides you through the most effective long-term solutions, using only qualified, vetted contractors. Fix your damp and waterproofing problems properly—starting with the right diagnosis.
1. STRUCTURAL & SAFETY ASSESSMENT
STRUCTURAL & SAFETY ASSESSMENT
A Structural & Safety Assessment by KZN Builders Association provides a complete, professional evaluation of the condition, stability and safety of your residential, commercial, industrial or complex property. This assessment is designed to identify the early warning signs of structural movement, foundation problems, cracking, roof failure, moisture damage, sub-standard workmanship, and any issues that could compromise the safety of occupants or the long-term value of the building. Our team conducts a detailed inspection of walls, foundations, slabs, beams, columns, roofs and drainage systems, checking for cracking, deflection, sagging, settlement, or water ingress that may threaten the integrity of the structure. We also document all findings with photographs, recommendations and a clear action plan.
This assessment is ideal for homeowners, body corporates, estates, schools, churches, factories and commercial property owners who need clarity, peace of mind and expert guidance before renovations, maintenance or repairs. Many structural issues worsen silently over time and become far more expensive if ignored—our assessment helps you prevent unnecessary costs, insurance claim refusals and safety risks.
We provide transparent feedback, practical repair strategies, prioritisation lists and, where necessary, referrals to our vetted network of reliable contractors who can carry out repairs safely and correctly. Whether you’re preparing to renovate, planning to buy or sell, or you simply want to understand the true condition of your building, our Structural & Safety Assessment gives you the confidence to make informed decisions. Protect your investment, avoid costly surprises and ensure your property is safe, compliant and structurally sound

Ganson and his team said it may be an unforseen problem .I thought that an unforseen problem is going to result in major unforseen costs. once they stripped the showa, they showed me that the trap was leaking and damaged. So the told me to buy the parts and they only charged me for the labour. I was very happy with this solution . They even gave me a contract before I started the projected and they walked me through the house once they were done showing me that the work was done as per contract. 5 starz.Answer from KZN Builders Association on 28-11-2021:Happy that you had a good experience Anton
