Fabric Protection

Fabric Protection
Fabric protection is very important to do after cleaning. This can be done using multiple products that will work on different types of materials. The fabric could be from carpets and curtains to table clothes that may be a bit exposed to the elements.

What type of fabric protection should I use?

When you thinking about protecting your fabric it is also a good idea to think about what fabric you are buying.  Synthetic fibres are a better choice for upholstered furniture that sits in areas of heavy usage. So if you have pets, choose fabrics that do not have loose weaves or too much texture. Always take care of spills when they take place, although the chairs do go through some type of additional fabric protections so spills do not soak through. This does not mean that they must not be attended to as they happen. All fabric has a manufacturers label on that has a W, S, W-S or and X, these tell you what the fabric should be cleanied with. W is a water based cleaning substance, S is a Solvent or dry cleaning product, W-S can be cleaned with either and X means that no cleaning product should be used, only brushed or vaccumed.

Some other tips to make you fabric look cleaner and healthier,  If there is a spill rather blot it as much as possible, sometimes this is all that is needed. It is best to test cleaning products in an inconspicuous area first to guard against color bleeding or fabric shrinkage. Regularly clean your fabric by vacuuming or light brushing.
