I qualified as a Construction plumber 38 years ago at Olifantsfontein in 1982.
In those days, to qualify as a plumber 38 years ago, we had to pass with the knowledge of roofing, parapet walls and chimney flashings carried out with lead or aluminum bitumen products.
My apprenticeship was served through the public works department where we were taught the hard way.
I quickly became a leader with staff workers under my supervision and this is where I learnt about the entire building industry as we had to service all the government buildings throughout the Western Cape.
I picked up on plumbing tiling electrical bricklaying plasterworks painting ceilings and most importantly roofing / waterproofing and box gutters etc.
I am a past member of the NHBRC and have built a few prize roofing houses single/double and triple storey homes.
Any roofing / waterproofing and painting problems / ceiling repairs can be solved by Anchor Roofing & Waterproofing We are available all seasons, throughout the year.
I also worked for the Building works department with the Cape Town City Council servicing all the roof repairs to the power stations and sub stations throughout the Western Cape.
