Post 7 Build it Journey
Go back to listBLOG POST 7
After regrouping, working on Monday and catching up with friends in Ballito over Women’s Day I was up at 4 am and picked up my trusty road warrior companion Greg just after 6. I aimed my Asian engineered steed towards Pinetown to drop off our first advertising/promotions poster at the Build It store in the CBD. I was very grateful and pleased that the owner and ever friendly Justin gave such prominent display positioning for my posters around and outside his store. Thanks Justin for sending pictures through of the posters prominently displayed in your store.
The next stop was the Hillcrest Build It at the Oxford/Heritage Market and after a short discussion with Elaine we then moved up to the Botha’s Hill Build It where I had a great chat with Grant Weyer. We proceeded to wind our way through the Valley of 1000 Hills with its breath-taking views and headed down to the busy Cato Ridge store where Mr Dunbar kindly took a roll of our posters and had them up even before I had left the store. Greg drove along the N3 to Maritzburg as I got through some work mails stopping off at Msunduzi Build It where I dropped off more posters and moved across to the neighbouring Edenvale store dodging the odd goat and cow where the manager Yusuf very graciously and kindly welcomed me. What a lovely man and thank you Yusuf for sharing what it’s like to manage a busy Build It store.
We pressed on up Town Hill with its magnificent views back over Pietermaritzburg to the quaint Midlands town of Hilton host to several prestigious schools and residential property developments and stopped off at the strategically situated local Build It store where I met with the always smiling and friendly Blake Kershaw. With this meeting successfully concluded we headed for our last destination of the day, the Build It store in the middle of Howick, an incredibly fast growing town during the last fifteen years and home to many prominent retirement villages/complexes/developments. I met Giuseppe who as always was very kind to me and took a roll of posters.
With a feeling of elation at the positive response that I had received to my poster promotions from all the Build It franchise owners, we headed for the cosy home of my relatives Don and Wendy, our very kind hosts for the evening. A busy but once again successful day. Great to be on the open road
