Post 22 Build it Journey

Blog Post 22

Unlike some other stays with Niall and Jade this is a work trip so I had an early night. I think Niall and Jade were quite surprised, as I can be known to be the last person to turn off the lights at a party. I think I was in bed with tea at just after 8 pm. The good thing was that I had a clear and happy head, the sunrise was absolutely amazing and I was on my travels full of homemade marmalade jam and hot tea by 7 30 am. Thank you again Niall and Jade for such a happy visit, I really appreciate everything and the chicken stir-fry was delicious as was the awesome cheese board. So good to spend time with you both. I always feel that the world is just right and things are in sync when I spend time with you both smiley

Today was my busiest day I think. It was definitely too much as it is not just visiting the Build It stores and going through each stores listings. There is a lot of follow up emails that have to be written and a lot of admin to be done to make this trip a success. We have 30,000 businesses listed on our site and my phone rings constantly with people wanting to sign up, ask questions about our site and then there are many emails that have to be dealt with. The long and the short is that I could not do this trip or anything else without the amazing and wonderful support from my business partner Fiona Swanepoel. She is truly a lifesaver and a rock for our business and me.

Back to my busy life and again today was very hectic but I had to do it as I need to take my Mum to hospital tomorrow (Friday) so after working in the morning that is what I need to do and then again on Monday also.

After a very long drive I was at the Build It store in Port Shepstone meeting with Lavinia who was kind enough to give me a lovely hot cup of tea, which was very needed.  It was brilliant that Mr. Hardware and Steel Build It’s (Port Shepstone) stats were 105 unique visits and 62 leads! So great and thanks for the great visit Lavinia. Then it was off to meet with Kean and Rosa at Hibberdene’s Build It store where I spent an hour chatting about our website and the stores listing. It was a good solid visit.

After two good stops it was off to Park Rynie to meet with the most impressive Nkosi Msipha who certainly looks like he is running s ship shape store. Everything was noticeably clean and sparkling and the kind of store you don’t want to ever leave. Well done to him and his team. I was also so pleased that the Park Rynie store has received 122 unique visits to their listing and 53 leads.

I then drove down the coast to visit the friendliest team that could ever be put together in one place. Thank you Brian and Shana for an amazing visit to your Umkomaas Build It store. Everyone was amazing and I loved my visit with you guys. Thank you for the water and toasted sandwich which was just what I needed. Thank you too to Annalize for listening to all the info on homeimprovement4u and how our site is benefitting your store. I took a great group photo and it was definitely one of the friendliest visits I have enjoyed on the trip so far.

Feeling quite tired by now it was off to the last stop to meet Ryan and Monique who kindly listened and went through their listing with me.

I don’t like to admit to weakness but I was shattered.

So whinging aside, the trip is going great. I am sitting finishing this blog on Friday morning before I get stuck into all my other emails and things I need to do. The next blog will only come through next week when another part of the trip will have begun. I have now done over 60 stores and just have two more to go to have completed KZN.

Have a great weekend everybody. Life is good.
