Skylights
Skylights: Celebrating the Beauty of Natural Light Skylights are openings in roofs or ceilings fitted with glass in order to emit natural light into a room. The first major production of skylights began in the Industrial Revolution and, in the 21st century, they have only become more popular for adventurous homeowners who want to feel the outdoors inside their home space. French Doors French doors always bring around thoughts of light, airy spaces that are calm and elegant. French doors have been installed by home owners around the world, and add a distinct element of class and style. There are multiple advantages to having French Doors incorporated into your home. A few of them include, design elements, light, and value. If you are thinking of adding French Doors as an element in your living space, look no further. Design and Choice: Installing French Doors should never mean having to compromise your own sense of design and personal style. French Doors range from being made from fibre, glass, wood and aluminium. Frames and fittings should be customised between homeowners and interior designers to ensure the best look is created. A glass French Door is sure to bring a heightened sense of openness whilst a steel French Door is going to add a modern edge. Whichever your preference, French Doors can be moulded to suit your home. Light: The main reason that homeowners seek French Doors in their home is due to the beautiful light that streams into rooms throughout the house. Stained Glass
Stained glass is traditionally found in churches, but it can also be a wonderful feature in the home, and is only limited by your imagination. Stained glass can be used for feature windows, shower screens, mirrors, splash backs, furniture inserts, glass coffee tables, lamp shades and mosaics. Stained glass is the hand painted and kiln-fired components of a leadlight. In stained glass, the colours used actually fuse to the glass in a way so that the colour becomes a part of the glass itself. A leadlight window can have elements of stained glass within it or it can be completely made from stained glass. Leadlight replicas are made using resins or films that are applied to the glass and adhesive lead. In this case, the colour is not a permanent part of the glass. There are leadlights and zinclights. Leadlights have joining strips appearing to be black or dark grey and, if scratched there is silver underneath the dark coating, the lead appears soft. Leadlights can use any glass colour. Zinclights are where the joint strips appear to look silver or like aged aluminium, if scratched the metal feels hard. These are common in art décor style door panels and windows, where the glass used is clear and varies in texture!
